LVP Theatre Workshop Program
Immerse yourself in a professional rehearsal process!
Section 1: Grades 5-7, Mondays or Wednesdays 3:30PM - 5:30 PM $650.00
Section 2: Grades 8-12, Tuesdays, Wednesdays or Thursdays 5:15PM - 9:15 PM $725.00
(Note: Section 1 will meet one day a week. Either Monday or Wednesday. Section 2 will meet one day a week. Either Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday.)
There are now two collaborative sections to this workshop, each designed to give students of different ages multiple performing opportunities, as well as to improve their acting, singing, and improvisation skills. But it doesn't end there...
Master classes involving both sections will be held on the following topics: acting, masks, on-camera, stage combat and improvisation. This is one of the most comprehensive workshops of its kind.
By audition only. Please prepare a 1 minute song and a 1 minute monologue. Auditions will be held on Saturday, January 21st, 2012.
Please sign up for an audition timeslot on our website. All sections audition on the same day.

Note: You should be prepared to come back between 4:30PM and 7:30PM for a callback. Not everyone will need to... but be prepared to.
If you can't make the audition time please contact us to set up another audition time. We discourage you from rescheduling your audition unless it is absolutely necessary as you will miss callbacks.
Little Village Musical Theatre Class
Jump into the world of Musical Theatre!

Final performance will be on Thursday May 3rd.
The aim of this class is to develop acting, singing, and speaking skills through a variety of theatre and improvisation games and exercises. Specifically designed to develop these skills in a safe, constructive environment, this class not only teaches its students vital theatre skills, but also social skills. This class culminates in a final presentation of a piece of musical theatre, which is open to the public.
The musical theatre classes will be taught by Galit Sperling.

Acting the Song--Musical Theatre Audition Technique
Rock the Audition!
Working with both a Director and a Musical Director, students learn to approach singing a song from an actor's point of view with emotion, intention and character background. Students will complete the course with the confidence to go Rock the Audition!

Acting Technique through Monologues and Scene Work
Delve into the Craft of Acting!
Students learn the basic skills of acting technique such as creating truthful emotions, playing intentions, vocal projection, stage directions and more. These skills are then applied to Monologue and Scene work.

This class will take you through Broadway dance history! From Gershwin to Sondheim, Fosse to Stroman. Learn the styles and the classic dances of Broadway legend.

Lose your fear of Shakespeare!
Learn Basic techniques in using the voice and understanding Shakespeare. Get comfortable with public speaking!

For students who've completed Stage 1 of this course, we will be offering Stage 2 in the Spring, which takes a more in-depth look at Shakespeare's words.
Yoga
Relax, Stretch and Exercise your Body, Mind and Soul!
Basic yoga techniques will be taught to help students focus on their inner and outer selves for a sense of overall wellness.

Theatre Mommy & Me Classes (and Daddies too)
Dramatic Play Time for you and your child!
For 3-5 year olds and their "Mommy" or "Daddy". This class combines storytelling, music, puppetry and art projects to help your child and you bond in a fun, educational, theatrical setting.

SummerStage will be comprised of three groups, the Young Actors Camp (2nd-4th graders), Tween Workshop (5th-7th graders), and the Teen Intensive (8th-12th graders). All groups will meet Mondays through Fridays from 9am-3pm at LVP. All will be structured with classes in Acting Technique, Choreography, Improv, Stage Combat, Music and Vocal Technique. The skills learned in these classes will be incorporated into the creation of musical theatre shows that will be performed at the culmination of each respective section. The groups will have rehearsal time for their shows built into their days at Summer Stage, as well as Master Classes (including Shakepseare, On Camera, Mask and more) and exciting Special Event Days!
Young Actors Camp: 2nd-4th Grade
Section I: July 9th - July 27th
Section II: July 30th - August 17th
Our Young Actors Camp will be fun-filled and action-packed! Campers will learn the fundamentals of what it takes to put together a musical theatre production. Using theatre games and exercises, students learn fundamental acting skills based on the Stanislavsky Technique and build confidence in themselves as actors while they rehearse and perform a final show!
Tween Workshop 5th-7th Grade
Section I: July 9th - July 27th
Section II: July 30th - August 17th
Tween actors will experience a professional rehearsal process, coupled with theatre games and acting exercises designed to fit their learning levels, the tweens will dive deeper into their work as actors as they endeavor to gain confidence and knowledge about all aspects of theatre and performance.
Teen Intensive 8th-12th Grade
July 9th - August 17th
A conservatory program, the Teen Intensive will consist of professional training from actors and directors with extensive experience in the business. Actors will take classes in all of the theatrical disciplines (acting technique, musical theatre, vocal production, singing, dance, movement for actors, Shakespeare, improv and more) Comprised of one six-week section,this Intensive will culminate in a two-act musical theatre production.
